The Katadyn Vario is adjustable to different conditions and has a 2-mode design that lets you opt between fast filtration or an extended lifetime of the primary filter, up to 2'000 liters! The filter eliminates bacteria, protozoa, cysts, algae, spores, and sediments and is suitable for cloudy water. Reduces chemicals and is designed to improve taste and odor with the replaceable activated carbon granulate. Dual-piston technology minimizes the effort required to pump water through the system.

The Katadyn Vario uses ceramic as a cleanable dirt shield and glassfibre for microbiological filtration with minimal pump resistance. In 'LONGER LIFE' mode, the turbid water is first pre-filtered through the ceramic disk and has an output of approx. 1L/min. When operating in mode 'FASTER FLOW', the water is directed straight to the glass fiber membrane, with the ceramic filter disengaged, increasing the water flow to up to 2L/min, depending on the water quality. Suitable for small groups, up to three people.

The dual piston mechanism provides continuous water flow with minimal effort, and the rubber base, a secure stand, and the integrated bottle thread fit directly on wide-mouth Nalgene bottles. Replacement filters are sold separately.
